Meet Tim Sky
Founder and owner of Sky's Electrical Contracting, a Columbus electrical company built on years of hands-on experience.

Tim Sky founded Sky’s Electrical Contracting. He is a Columbus native who has worked in the electrical trade since 2012.
Much of Tim’s background was built working around commercial and industrial electrical systems before starting his own contracting business. Today, that experience sets the standard for Sky’s residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work throughout Columbus and the surrounding area.
How Sky's Electrical Contracting Started
Sky’s Electrical Contracting didn’t start from a polished business plan.
Tim was already working full time in the electrical trade and wanted additional electrical work. When he couldn’t find the right part-time opportunity, he decided to create one himself.
After getting his contractor’s license and forming the business, Tim began taking on side projects. What started as extra work quickly became something more.
Tim found that one of the most rewarding parts of the job was walking into a situation someone didn’t know how to solve, figuring out what was wrong, fixing it correctly, and seeing the difference it made for the customer.
That problem-solving mindset became a big part of why he continued building Sky’s Electrical Contracting.
In the Electrical Trade Since 2012
Tim started doing electrical work in 2012 after a friend working in the trade encouraged him to give it a shot. He began an apprenticeship and spent years learning from experienced electricians who expected work to be done correctly.
Tim credits those mentors with shaping the way he approaches electrical work today. The attention to detail, high standards, and focus on quality that were expected of him early in his career carried directly into the way he runs Sky’s Electrical Contracting.

Building Something for the Long Term
Tim’s long-term goal is to grow Sky’s Electrical Contracting into a stronger commercial and industrial electrical company serving Columbus and the surrounding region.
Growth for Tim is not just about taking on larger projects.
One of the parts of his previous electrical work that he enjoyed most was helping train apprentices, teaching them better ways to approach the trade, and watching them develop their skills.
As Sky’s grows, Tim wants the company to become a place where he can create those same opportunities for other electricians.
